I have a Dell r610 that seems to have a broken raid5 volume. The volume has 100's of users home directories and I mistakenly thought these were being backed upto a netapp filer and have found out to my horror they are not. Whilst carrying out some operational readiness testing our onsite engineer pulled a different disk to the one instructed and seem to have broken the RAID5 (1 reconstruction in place when the 2nd disk was pulled). We see 'A foreign configuration has been detected' in syslog.
My issue is that I cant see the raid5 volume in the IDrac and although I have Dell Openmange successfully installed i'm very nervous about running anything that may completely lose data that may otherwise able to be safed.
